I'm excited to get your perspective on things coming from a Pastoral side of counseling and from some of the many experiences that you have had!Mike Marekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03700762626642341464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2972997237667092020.post-46491357707322819562011-03-22T10:42:38.930-07:002011-03-22T10:42:38.930-07:00Hey, Mike! am so glad you asked me to participate ...Hey, Mike! am so glad you asked me to participate in this blog. To those who don't know me, I was one of Mike's personal training clients for years. For the first time in my life (and over 40 years of age),I actually LOVED exercise. After Mike left the gym to go to graduate school, I worked out with another trainer for a few more years. Well, life got more complicated -- I got married, moved, changed careers and the gym lost its importance. Well, I sustained a severe hamtring injury and neglected it. After two year, I finally dealt wih it. Now I walk with a cane and am facing a total hip replacment next summer. My doctor wants me stronger and leaner for the surgery,so I am following his prescription and yesterday signed on wih another personal trainer at the Savage Lifetime to get that accomplished. I learned so much from Mike -- he always challenged me to work hard and for the right reasons. He changed my life like few others have.Jeanne B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/00643063826480813423noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2972997237667092020.post-76926917625279498032011-03-22T09:22:45.834-07:002011-03-22T09:22:45.834-07:00Renee,

My personal relationships with my children and working on that “intense emotional connection” are such an important feature of this blog for me and should have been stated in my first posting. I also love your topic of “outcome anxiety” as a topic of discussion and something that almost all parents can identify with. Usually related to the anxiety of trying to balance the thoughts of providing our children with everything they need and shaping them, and avoiding our own fallibility and limitations as parents. The parent child relationship is definitely a unique relationship because we do not actually choose each other as we would choose our spouse and choose our friendships. We are supposed to just unconditionally love each other, which can be very challenging, yet very rewarding.<br />Great Points!!Mike Marekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03700762626642341464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2972997237667092020.post-49762689618601501392011-03-22T08:18:48.195-07:002011-03-22T08:18:48.195-07:00I think you left out a major piece of the pie on y...I think you left out a major piece of the pie on your knowledge quest here...being a dad. The intense emotional connection to another human being that you have complete outcome anxiety for is something that changes your life and how you look at it wether it is acknowledged or not. Above all, it does teach us how we are going to make the choice in how we connect to other people...or not.Renee https://www.blogger.com/profile/02158282749365814016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2972997237667092020.post-79460911451447540292011-03-21T20:56:31.539-07:002011-03-21T20:56:31.539-07:00Sweet!
